Stoll Berne attorneys Gary Berne and Jen Wagner represented the court-appointed conservator for a protected person in connection with civil claims arising out of a “sweetheart scam” through which a group of people who were criminally convicted stole in excess of $15 million from an Oregon family. Stoll Berne was retained to analyze and pursue claims against the protected person’s lawyers and accountants, including on claims for malpractice and elder abuse. The claims were ultimately resolved through settlements.
