PPS Lead-in-Water Investigation

In the Spring of 2016, the Portland Public School district was roiled by revelations that there was lead in the drinking water at some district schools. The Portland Public School Board of Education hired Stoll Berne attorneys Tim DeJong and Steve Berman to conduct an investigation regarding the district’s practices and protocols for testing for lead in water and disclosing information to the public about lead in water at schools and buildings. Upon public release of the Stoll Berne investigation in July 2016, the district’s superintendent resigned.
