Following the arrest of a City of Portland employee for being involved in a bribery scandal regarding the City’s purchase of parking meters, the City of Portland hired Stoll Berne attorney Steve Berman to determine whether the company that sold the parking meters (and whose employees had engaged in the bribery) had undertaken reasonable efforts and conducted a sufficient investigation to discover if its parent company or its related entities knew about or participated in the bribery.
