Nickel Ore Processing Facility Lawsuit

Stoll Berne represented approximately 50 individual residents of Coos Bay, Oregon, including the elderly and families with young children, who lived adjacent to a nickel ore processing facility that was releasing large quantities of fine red dust. The visible red dust, which included nickel and chromium, contaminated the surrounding neighborhoods and caused health problems, including repeated sinus infections, skin rashes, and respiratory problems, for area residents. Stoll Berne attorney Robert Stoll (Retired) successfully prosecuted claims on behalf of the residents; each received a monetary settlement and the processing facility was closed.
