Robert Shlachter Receives the 2018 Owen M. Panner Professionalism Award

Robert Shlachter has been chosen as the recipient of the 2018 Owen M. Panner Professionalism Award by the Oregon State Bar Litigation Section. The annual award, now in its 21st year, is named after Owen M. Panner, an esteemed member of the federal bench, and each year honors one member of either the bench or bar who exemplifies the highest personal and professional standards. The award recognizes both personal and professional qualities, reputation, and conduct.

Nadia Dahab Presented at the FBA Rising Professionals Symposium February 2-3, 2018

Stoll Berne attorney, Nadia Dahab, presented at the Federal Bar Association Rising Professionals Symposium. The symposium was held February 2-3, 2018 at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas. Nadia's presentation focused on appeal preservation issues, "I Object! Tips for Preserving Issues for a Future Appeal," and was held on February 2nd.

Oregon Secretary of State Withdraws Rule Changes After Stoll Berne Files Lawsuit

Two days after Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson implemented new rules changing how signatures could be gathered for statewide initiative petitions, Stoll Berne filed a lawsuit on behalf of an Oregon voter alleging that the new rules were illegal. The rule changes would have allowed initiative backers to gather signatures using a non-final ballot title (a neutral summary of the initiative), while that ballot was being reviewed for accuracy by the Oregon Supreme Court. Stoll Berne attorney, Steven Ber

State of Oregon Sues Monsanto for PCB Contamination with Stoll Berne and Keller Rohrback

The State of Oregon, by and through Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, filed a lawsuit today against Monsanto. The suit alleges that Monsanto, over decades, manufactured and distributed toxic compounds that caused harm to Oregon’s land, waters, fish and wildlife. The lawsuit seeks over $100 million in damages and clean-up costs associated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
