Stoll Berne obtains dismissal of $33 million lawsuit brought by Oracle

On June 13, 2015, Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Henry Kantor dismissed a $33 million lawsuit brought against two Stoll Berne clients, and others, by Oracle America, Inc.  The Stoll Berne clients were represented by  Steve Berman.

In February 2015, Oracle filed a $33 million lawsuit against five advisors to former Governor Kitzhaber.  Oracle alleged that those advisors had improperly interfered with Oracle’s contract to provide a working website for Oregon’s health exchange.  The advisors moved to dismiss the complaint, under Oregon’s statute to prevent strategic lawsuits against public policy (SLAPP suits).  The advisors argued that Oracle’s claim lacked merit, and could not go forward.  Judge Kantor granted the advisors' motion and dismissed Oracle’s case in its entirety. Please see recent articles on Oregon Live and in Willamette Week.
