Taco Bell responded to the class action lawsuit I told you about last month alleging that Taco Bill is engaging in false advertising when saying it uses ground beef in its tacos.  News of the Taco Bell class action lawsuit spread like wildfire, forcing Taco Bell to launch a massive PR campaign.

Taco Bell announced this week it would give away a free Crunchy Beef Taco to the first 10 million Facebook fans who “like” Taco Bell’s fan page.  Taco Bell is calling it “The World’s Largest Free Taco Giveaway” as a thank you, they say, to their loyal customers that continue to support them even after the class action lawsuit public debacle.

“Throughout the beef class action lawsuit, the response and enthusiasm from our Facebook community has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Taco Bell CEO Greg Creed. “We found it only fitting to reward these 5.4 million fans and a friend with a free taco.”

While a class action lawsuit settlement with Taco Bell over the fake beef controversy isn’t likely to happen soon – if it happens at all – you can still cash in on the class action lawsuit by claiming your free taco. That is, of course, if you still don’t mind eating an only 35% beef taco.

All you have to do to claim your free taco is “Like” Taco Bell’s Facebook fan page and download the “Free Crunchy Taco” coupon.
