Caring for the Community
STOLL BERNE is proud to be based in Portland, Oregon and to engender Oregonian values of environmental awareness and giving back to the community. Our attorneys regularly give their time to pro bono work and non-profit interests. In fact, STOLL BERNE was one of the first firms in Portland to achieve one hundred percent attorney participation in The Lawyers' Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ). Recently, Robert Stoll was honored by CEJ for his outstanding work in advocating legal services for people living in poverty, and Josh Ross has been honored with the Multnomah Bar Association's Pro Bono Award. Robert Stoll and Mark Friel have both chaired the Oregon State Bar Pro Bono Committee.
Our staff and attorneys are involved in a variety of organizations in the local community. In 2008, attorneys Rob Shlachter, Josh Ross and Yoona Park coached the Lincoln High School mock trial team to a second place success in the state's high school competition.
The firm also donates at least 1% of its annual revenues to various charities. The Portland Business Journal has consistently recognized STOLL BERNE as one of Portland's leading philanthropic small companies.
In addition, STOLL BERNE is committed to sustainable business practices. The firm has hosted classes for its staff and attorneys, which have focused on reducing the use of natural resources, improving recycling, and sustainable living choices.
We are committed to continuing our efforts in each of these areas so that we are making Portland a better place to live and do business.
